In the last few months, the local authorities have been renovating the walkways around this monument. As a result, the area used for feeding pigeons is now covered with a pathway. There is a huge debate whether pigeons are a nuisance or not. This is a global debate and not restricted to Jaipur or India. Many believe pigeon poop is the reason people develop pulmonary disease. At the same time, pigeon poop on the surface of monuments causes its deterioration. Bird lovers, on the other hand, want feeding to continue. Who will win? Only time will tell.
