Have you ever waited? Waited for a long time? I captured the following set of pictures during a photo walk in Jaipur. It was the same photo walk which I mentioned in 11 seconds.
You can read some of these interesting photo walks in Jaipur in these links –Photo Walk in Jaipur Faceless Frames ” Hands”, Eye-less, Shapes.

It was early morning. These two men were sitting on a tractor in one of the old bazaars of Jaipur. I have no clue as to what they were waiting for. Maybe for the customer. Maybe to meet someone. Just a guess! But they looked extremely bored. Especially the driver.

Have you ever waited? Do you get bored as well? I do, sometimes but most of the times in a busy market like this, there is enough to see and do.

I know. You can’t help but sympathize with him. I think that’s a bad start of a new day! What do you think?

Haha.. I think he is just bugged after having some nonsensical argument with his wife/gf. His expression is like “wtf dude”. He looks totally stumped 😀

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. When I clicked this picture, I didn’t pay much attention to his expression. Sometimes you end up clicking things unknowingly. Perhaps, you were lucky that day! What is your experience?

True True. That happens to me so many times! When I come back home and study my pictures I realize the impromptu shots have come out well. Not all though 😬

That’s the beauty of photography! The surprise element! So who’s the photographer between two of you? 🙂

Earlier, we both used to carry cameras and would click to our freedom and later collate. However, with Aayansh things have changed as one of us is always busy handling him. So, we end up deciding beforehand like my latest post on Jamali Kamali…I covered it 🙂🙂

Surely, kids change the equation. Well, in a few years time thing’s will change again and you guys can revert back. How old is Aayansh? Also collating means getting the best pictures. 😃👍

These people on your photos almost look depressed. Perhaps they are bored with the monotony that comes with their job. I fight boredom by reading a good book while I am waiting. Have a great day, Arv!

That’s a very valid judgement and logical too. I think some jobs or routines associated with them are monotonous and demanding. Reading book is a good option where job conditions allow you to do so. I think that is a very productive use of time. I’m happy that you like to utilize your free time. 🙂

You captured the “lost” look in his eyes so well! Bored and uninterested in anything it seems! B&W shots bring out the best in such shots I feel! Thank you so much for linking with us, Arvind.

Thanks, Esha. I agree. The streets have so many interesting subjects to capture. I agree that monochrome brings out the best of emotions. I had mentioned a few months ago that I will figure out a way to join WW. I may not be regular here but will join whenever I can, Esha. 😃

Love this, Arv. I have quite a few similar images from India, like in little shops, people appear looking bored. Yet I always took it as either they were waiting for clients or just being tired from what ever is going on in their lives. Happy Photography to you.

Nice perspective, Cornelia! I feel some jobs are monotonous and some people are unable to take a break like most of us. Either they can’t afford to or it’s their work profile. I will love to see the clicks you mentioned. 🙂

Not long time ago, I was pretty bored and nervous while waiting… I could say I hated waiting, so I tried to be late, in order not to wait if possible))) Currently, I’ve change my attitude and trying to thankful for this moments of waiting. If to use positive attitude – waiting might be pleasant as well. You might check the thing around, relax, stop thinking for a while =D

Great attitude, Lidia! If we can utilize this time in some ways, it is definitely “time earned”. In many situations, we don’t have control over how others treat our time but we can surely change our attitude. 🙂
