After a long hiatus, I’m posting pictures of a sunrise in Jaipur. Until the start of this year, I have posted pictures of sunrises or sunsets almost every week. Here I’m again with the sunrise pictures near the most epic place for the sunrise in Jaipur- Nahargarh Fort.

I mentioned in one of my posts that the sunrise point at Nahargarh Fort is best avoided for a variety of reasons. I found a better option to witness a sunrise near Nahargarh Fort.
Read: Why sunrise at Nahargarh Fort is not a good idea?

I captured this picture seated from a lovely spot devoid of the crowd with a smartphone a few minutes after the sunrise. The colors are typical of smartphone pictures. I feel the pictures clicked by smartphones are better than a DSLR in many situations. This is because smartphones do a better job of evaluative metering. To me, this picture looks dreamy because of the blue and pink tint. Here is another dreamy picture that I posted in A Glimpse Of A Soft Winter Sun Check it out!

The most beautiful Sunrises and Sunsets I have witnessed in my life were in India.

Really? That’s interesting to know. Did you spend a long time in India? which city?

Hello my friend. I have traveled to India twice, for a total of 5 weeks. First in the south, traveling the bottom triangle from Bangalore to Kanyakumari to Mahbalipurham and back. Second trip was Delhi, Agra, Amritsar, Wagah Border. I long for India and hope to be back in the next year or two.

Beautiful! It’s really not the right word to do full justice to a sunset, but that’s the word that came to my mind on seeing that picture. 🙂 I tend to forget all my adjectives when I behold a sun on the horizon.

I had no clue that you love sunsets. It will be great to see pictures of sunset from your part of the world, Shilpa! BTW, this is a sunrise picture. 🙂

This picture is indeed dreamy arv, with a mystical glow around it! Nice to see it on a foggy, freezing morning. 🙂

It’s not that foggy and certainly not freezing, yet! In any case, Jaipur doesn’t experience a very cold weather. If at all, it lasts just for a week, max! we have a mild winter season which makes it a popular place for travelers. 🙂

Very nice shot! It must have been pretty cold though?

No, it wasn’t. Jaipur is yet to witness the cold spell. So from the perspective where you are based, the weather is “pleasant” but from a local’s perspective, it’s not that cold! 🙂

I must admit, Arv, I sometimes get better photographs in low light with a smartphone than I do with my DSLR

That’s exactly my point, Mike. I always rely on my phone for pictures before the sunrise. A DSLR will surely need a tripod and long exposure to get a good shot. When you are on hike, tripod is impractical and impossible. Smartphone does the job reasonably well. I’m sure you have something similar to share, Mike!

Beautiful picture, how wonderful you found a space devoid of the touristy crowd – the picture conveys the tranquility of the moment. That halo of muted yellow around the sun is absolutely lovely!

Thanks, Arti. I think the sunrise is a special moment and we should take it as a nature’s gift. Having experienced noisy surroundings at Nahargarh Fort, I have found better ones which offer tranquail set-up. I have a couple of more pictures, will share them some other day. Do you enjoy sunrises?
