Hi! I’m Jaipur based blogger. JaipurThruMyLens is a blog about Jaipur.  Best known around the world as “The Pink City,” Jaipur ranks high as a travel destination. My blog, JaipurThruMyLens showcases the city with a different perspective for travelers and locals.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to travel and visit many other cities in India and abroad. Based on my travel experiences, Jaipur is truly unique in comparison to all other cities. Jaipur encompasses a rich & unique culture that is hard to find in other cities. It has a very distinct “flavour” & “feel”, which draws visitors again and again! Every festival, like Holi, Diwali, Janmashtami, Teej, Dussehra, etc is celebrated with zest & fervor. The rich monumental legacy is certainly one of its kind with a long list including Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, and Hawa Mahal to name a few.

I started exploring Jaipur in 2014 even though I grew up in the city. In 2015, I started this blog on Jaipur, JaipurThruMyLens, to share pictures of the city with the rest of the world. Initially, the blog was only meant to be a photo-blog with pictures of Jaipur, and over time, the idea changed. Readers and followers of the JaipurThruMyLens blog requested that I share more and not just pictures. Many readers mentioned they possibly would not be able to travel to Jaipur and the blog was a great way to see the beautiful city, virtually. Some followers wanted me to share my perspective on popular places. Essentially, they wanted authentic information since the internet is full of conflicting ones. JaipurThruMyLens has become quite popular because of its unique content and perspective on Jaipur. The topics covered in this blog are quite varied and in-depth.  

The idea of starting a blog about Jaipur was completely different than what it is today. I’m happy that the JaipurThruMyLens blog has helped travelers visiting Jaipur explore the pink city in a meaningful way. Similarly, researchers have shared that JaipurThruMyLens is a great resource for their research.  

Many followers suggested that the blog should evolve with time. By this, they meant that JaipurThruMyLens should also share information through social media, especially Instagram. While I’m on Instagram – @arv_jpr it does not replace the blog JaipurThruMyLens. I’m only sharing Jaipur pictures on Instagram, at the moment.

There is so much to Jaipur that any combination of 26 letters will not be able to cover it all. The Internet, guidebooks, and Jaipur travel blogs are replete with information on Jaipur, most of which is quite a cliche.

  6. Arv!, came across here to underline my own thanks for the follow placed on my blog, greatly appreciated. You may be surprised to hear that I have visited Jaipur many years ago – my images are all pre-digital, hence you wot see any on my blog. A great city and one I would fully endorse – got a great shave in one of the markets there.
    I am jealous of all the rich material and colour you have to work with in your city amazing. I also think the people are great to photograph in India too and, so far, most seem to be happy to have their pictures taken, almost proud to be chosen. Let my tour continue…….MM 🍀

( I hope it’s okay to do so) ..happy to know you have been to Jaipur and those images are still fresh in your mind… what if it was long back. yes, large number of visitors from western hemisphere find Rajasthan to be very colorful!! I guess that’s something locals don’t notice… Jaipur is amazing place for photography….street, people, architecture, colors there’s quite a bit to capture! Thanks for the interaction here…

    1. I started this blog for many reasons but promoting tourism was not on the list. The key idea was to help those who were seeking Jaipur beyond the ‘touristy ‘ parts and history beyond the one narrated by tourist guide. I have been informed by many visitors that Jaipur city is beyond comparison and it’s culture, tradition and religious & architectural legacy is very rich as well as vibrant. so I thought of sharing this along with my own journey. I found out that given its history, not many residents know about it leave alone tourist!!!

      It’ll be great to read about Ukraine. all we have been hearing is the war! I’m sure it’s culture and people has lot of stories. I’ll be very happy to read about them all. do keep me posted.

I`ve never heard about your city before and when I checked I`ve found out that it is in India, and according to your pictures I have to agree that your place has much thing to offer about the cultural and religious backgrounds. For now I don`t really believe that I could have such a diverse material, which pick up the readers, about my place. I love the city where I`m living, but it seems to me that its so simple and just one day would be enough to explore it)

      2. I agree that not all cities offer so much. but there are many other things you can explore -history, religion, customs- you can explore why certain aspects developed into current form ? Another thing you can explore is people.I have tried doing this in conversation category. It’s about conversations with a common man, with no specific motive. unfortunately I don’t get so much time to keep it going on regular basis.

      4. Thanks for the idea of public exhibition! I don’t think I have reached to that level yet! At the moment, I have lots to write on this blog, finding time is a challenge. I also need to work on my other blog which is on travel & treks! I guess too many things to do… 🙂

I was saying the same about my personal exhibitions, but one day my friend just informed me that in 2 days the gallery offers a place for me, and I had nothing to do – I`ve picked up some of the images and made my 1st exhibition. Btw what is your another blog? Can I have the link please? as for my photography job here is my link: lid-ko.com I post there specific works, not everyone will like, but i try to put some concept on them)

The other blog is yet to have post on it as they are still in draft status. there’s so much to post on this one, finding time is real tough! well to set up blog, theme and rest of settings is quite laborious process. let me fix deadline and once it’s done, you’ll be first person to know about it. 🙂
        Yes it’s true art is quite subjective, so it’s quite possible for some to not like it. but it doesn’t matter!
