Sun temple or Surya Mandir in Jaipur is situated on the eastern hill range, which in a way has restricted the city from expanding in the East direction. The temple is located at a strategic point; a  starting point of the major east-west road of Jaipur’s walled city. This road in ancient times was one of the most important roads in the city. Its importance can be judged by its width, an important parameter of its time. Today things have changed !!

This picture was clicked from the Sun Temple, Jaipur overlooking the city during this week. One can see clouds hovering over the city, in the background. Even though its a peak monsoon season, the city is still waiting for second round of rains! By the way, the perimeter wall in the lower part of the picture is painted with typical pink color. It’s the same shade that Jaipur city is associated with!
