Jaipur is one of the most loved & visited cities in India. I’m yet to come across anyone who did not enjoy his or her Jaipur trip. Many people reach out to me to either suggest a 3-day Jaipur itinerary or check if their selection of things to do in Jaipur is in order. This inspired me to create this travel blog with things to do in Jaipur and a 3-day Jaipur itinerary. It makes it so much easier to simply share this Jaipur travel blog, help travelers, and save everyone’s time. Given the possibilities of many things to do in Jaipur & places to visit, this Jaipur travel guide blog will surely help people plan better.
Places To Visit And Things to Do in Jaipur
Amer Fort
Amer Fort needs little explanation. It is a premier attraction in Jaipur and at the forefront among Jaipur travel places. You can read an in-depth Amer Fort travel blog – Amer Fort The only guide you will need and Why Amer Fort in Jaipur is famous? It answers every query and question you might have on Amer Fort. A word of caution. Due to a large number of tourists visiting Amer Fort, scammers posing as guides often approach tourists to lure them into shops selling handicrafts, carpets, jewelry, stones, etc. Most of these are low-priced items but sold at exorbitant prices as the sale involves kickbacks and commissions. Stay clear of touts and guides in Jaipur. Often, the drivers are also an accomplice in such practices. To know more about Amer Fort, read the detailed Amer Fort Jaipur blog Amer Fort The only guide you will need
Jaigarh Fort
Jaigarh Fort is one of the less visited forts in Jaipur. It is famed for its large cannon and water storage tanks. The water collection system of Jaigarh Fort is worth exploring. I wish the fort was better maintained and curated. To know more about Jaigarh Fort, read the detailed Jaigarh Fort Jaipur blog Jaigarh Fort The Dismay
Nahargarh Fort
Nahargarh Fort is the most popular fort in Jaipur and is usually part of every Jaipur itinerary. It is also referred to as the most happening fort in Jaipur and draws a large number of young people. Restored a couple of years ago, it is definitely worth visiting, especially for the Madhvendra Palace, Nahargarh Fort sunsets, and Nahargarh Fort sunrise. Read Sunrise at Nahargarh Fort The Jaipur sunset point in Nahargarh Fort is often overcrowded. Read Nahargarh Fort Sunset Experience. To know more about Nahargarh Fort, read the detailed Nahargarh Fort Jaipur blog The Insider’s Guide to Nahargarh Fort
Jal Mahal
Jal Mahal is closed to visitors but one can have a nice view of this water palace from the promenade. It makes for a pretty backdrop in pictures. To know more about Jalmahal Jaipur, read the detailed Jaipur Jalmahal blog Inside Jal Mahal
Walking Tour in Jaipur
Walking Tour in Jaipur is a great addition to your Jaipur trip. The rising popularity of the Jaipur walking tours is a good indication of interest in Jaipur Heritage. Lately, many operators are offering a walking tour in Jaipur but not all of these are of good quality. A large number of these walks are often a trap to lead the visitors to shops by quoting low walking tour prices; the low cost charged from the travelers is subsidized with kickbacks and commissions from shopping or food. Often many Jaipur walking tours are not worth spending time & money on. If you want more information on the Jaipur heritage walking tour and how you can do a walking tour in Jaipur. Read Heritage Walking Tour in Jaipur
Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal is one of the most photographed places in Jaipur and it is not surprising. It is one of a kind. If you have time, explore the Hawa Mahal complex. Read the full in-depth Hawa Mahal travel blog- Hawa Mahal Guide
Jaipur City Palace
Jaipur City Palace is the next most visited tourist place in Jaipur and is definitely part of 3 days Jaipur itinerary of travelers. Though popular, personally, it fails to impress me in terms of the collection and the overall experience. I prefer the Albert Hall Museum over the Museum of Jaipur City Palace because of the importance of exhibits and the quality of the display. To know more about Jaipur City Palace, read the detailed City Palace Jaipur blog Jaipur City Palace | Walk with museum curators
Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar Jaipur is the only well-maintained solar observatory built in the 18th century in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I highly recommend a visit to Jantar Mantar in Jaipur. All solar instruments are still functional and highly accurate. Here is a picture from Jantar Mantar
Albert Hall Museum
Albert Hall Museum is the state museum of Jaipur. This museum contains many important and rare exhibits. In my opinion, in terms of the display and exhibits, the Albert Hall Museum is the best museum in Jaipur and worth a visit. If you have to choose a visit to one museum in Jaipur, I would recommend Albert Hall Museum. Not only the collection is impressive, but the building architecture is remarkable. It is one of the best specimens of Indo-Sarascenic architecture in India.
Chokhi Dhani
Chokhi Dhani is a popular tourist attraction in Jaipur. It is an ethnic Rajasthani village setting providing a good cultural experience. While I do not recommend it to everyone because of excessive commercialization, it might be a good experience for those seeking a cultural experience.
Shopping in Jaipur
A visit to Jaipur is incomplete without shopping. Shopping in Jaipur markets is one of the must-do activities in Jaipur for female travelers. The variety of wares and the price range are unmatched. Over the past few years, Jaipur has been one of the top places for wedding shopping in India. Among the items to shop in Jaipur are wedding Lehengas, Sherwanis, jewelry, handmade gift items, and attires & garments with intricate workmanship, to name a few. To know more about Shopping in Jaipur markets, read the detailed Jaipur Shopping blog here – Jaipur shopping markets guide
Kishanbagh
Kishanbagh is one of a kind of project. I highly recommend Kishanbagh to nature lovers. While travelers usually visit popular tourist attractions in Jaipur, the inclusion of Kishanbagh adds a completely new dimension to the travel experience; more so, when traveling with kids to Jaipur. The naturalists accompany visitors and explain all there is to know about the local flora, fauna, and topography. Where else can you gain so much? I really enjoyed reading this post on places to visit in three days around Jaipur, Arv. As always, I am amazed by the numerous forts Jaipur has and how each one of them is very different. That is a lovely shot of Albert Hall Museum with the birds in front. Are those pigeons? There are quite a lot of them.
I like that you say design your itinerary based on location and preference of visit. Different people like doing different things on travel. For me, shopping is usually not on top of the list, but more like exploring cultural sites or spending some time in nature. It’s been a while, Arv. Hope you have been doing well 🙂

You are right, Mabel, everyone has their own choices and preferences. There are many travelers who prefer minimalist lifestyle and therefore avoid shopping. Have you always been like this during travel or this is a change over the years?
Yes, Mabel, it has been quite some time. Hope you are doing well.

For me I think I like a mix of things when traveling. I like to see cultural sites. Maybe some shopping but definitely not not usually keen on a whole holiday of shopping. I like to take it easy. So for you to have a flexible itinerary, that’s great – can customise.
Yes, it has been quite some time. I have been alright. Been busy with studying and writing 🙂

Flexible itinerary is always good as travel can be unpredictable. Sometimes I might want to do something else halfway during a trip.
Life has been busy this year. Hopefully I can get back to blogging more consistently 😄
