Enjoying Solitude & Sunrise

What makes watching sunrise so special? Is it the magic of the soft rising Sun? Is it the solitude? Or is it the peace and tranquility that comes with the dawn? Frankly, I have no idea! It’s a difficult question to answer. Maybe we all have our own reasons. It’s not always that one gets rewarded with such stunning work of nature. Sometimes, It’s worth all the effort in searching for a perfect spot for witnessing the Sunrise in Jaipur.

    1. well said. Sunrise is like a new promise. You have posted some wonderful pictures for the skywatch. I really liked the sunrise picture through the window pane. suggestion- do post them slightly larger dimension. Will definitely enhance the appeal. 🙂

      1. Size. Try it out in your next few posts. You’ll see the difference and so will the readers of the blog. I will not suggest you to increase the pixel size due to technical reasons. Do let me know, after trying for sometime. 🙂

    1. Well said. Sunrise, is like a new promise irrespective of how your last day went by. I have a suggestion, why don’t you click one sunrise and one sunset picture in each of your trip? That way, you’ll have a collection of sunrise pictures to cherish! 🙂

      1. alas, my city Sofia is everything but romantic lol 🙂 the only sunrises I’ve captured are from the sea, in the city you can’t see even the stars, only concrete buildings… there is a mountain nearby, where you can capture sunrises, if you climb the top very early, but I’m not that dedicated 🙂 you live at an amazing place!!

      2. I can understand Alexandra, even I face the same situation out here with concrete structures around me. I choose to drive out of town to experience such stunning sunrise, otherwise I get to see Sun only once it is high in the sky. 🙂

  1. The first real sunrise I saw at Kasauni (a hill station and Village situated in Bageshwar district in the state of Uttarakhand, India) is still embedded in my memory, one of the most memorable ones…getting up so early, freezing cold, with a little baby of 6 months in my hands, all bundled up with a cute cap…I have a picture but it belongs to that era of cameras, which were not digital 🙂

    1. It has to be memorable…the place and little baby, does call for a life time memory. I feel at least on a holiday, you must experience this glory of nature since you are not bogged down with routine life.
Having used film cameras extensively, I can understand your point on film prints. I’m sure these pictures are special to your heart….Life time memories!

  2. You ARE MAKING it all too impossible not to visit Jaipur, so please stop it! I am definitely ear marking the Literary Festival and a few of those terrific sunsets you seem to capture. I think I need to spend at least a week in the City discovering everything you have written about. Question! On your cover can you walk to the top of the mountain/hill you have taken a picture of the city from?

    1. Jackie, I have a question. if I were to stop posting, how will you ever come to know about it? 😉
I think you must mark out what all you need to see before allotting days to the city. I can help you with your list, if you feel so. well, my cover pictures keep changing. But I guess there are two pictures which overlook the city. Both are doable. I can share the location of both these places with you. Let me know, in advance. will email you these details. 🙂

      1. thanks that is a very generous offer. I want to come in November and buy old postcard; photographs and books. I am assuming it will be cooler then. Yes, your photographs are stunning and rather magical. Thank you

      2. I love any old Black and White photographs. I don’t want you to think I am looking for Colonial Rule stuff… I am not, I would like to read some Indian Literature but more than that, I want to hold old books and stroke them and feel the people who held them before. How weird is that?

      3. I’ll recommend you to get your picture click by an old 140 year old camera which is only one of it’s kind; surviving and still working camera. They still process it in old method.
