Bewildered | Jaipur Street Photography

I have posted a couple of pictures from Jaipur street over the last few months. Even though I was never into street photography for the reasons I mentioned in 11 Seconds, my views seem to have changed as I went around for street life photography. I will talk about it in detail in my upcoming post.

I am sharing this picture from my street photography walk in Jaipur.

I found his expression curious. Why? Because his eyes convey anger whereas his face suggests he is astonished. What do you think?

One of the important aspects of street photography is being candid. The moment someone knows that you are clicking, the expressions change. Photographers and people have different approaches & thoughts towards street photography though.

    1. Aditi, while I don’t post as much as I used to but I write anywhere from 2-4 posts a month. I guess you would like to read a post on a specific subject. I would love to hear what topics interests you.

  1. Thank you so much for joining us for #ww this week, Arvind! I like the way you captured the man’s expression. I particularly like the angle with which you shot his face. Perhaps he is irritated with something…or exasperated with someone! Who knows better than him. I like street photography because it captures real life, and nothing is rehearsed in it. What you see is what you get. Someday I’d like to work on a series on Bangalore streets. One of my many plans for this year. 🙂

    1. Esha, I don’t plan my clicks. The beauty of street photography is that you can’t plan. I don’t plan my photo walks, it is important to be more flexible and let the creativity flow. There have been times when I explored and came back without clicking a single shot. As I mentioned that I was not into street photography but with the passage of time, I had many realizations. Will share that with you, someday!

I agree that we cannot say with certainty as to what was working inside his mind. Happy to know that street photography is on your mind. Is there anything specific you want to click?

  2. A lens, once pointed at one who is aware, brings its own filter, but the candid shots are the ‘real’ ones, the ‘no filter’ photographs.
He does look like he’s sneering!

    1. I was apprehensive about it as well. But my experience over the last few months has been positive. As for his expressions, I guess that will remain a mystery. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Kerry.
