About Jaipurthrumylens

Hi! I’m Jaipur based blogger. JaipurThruMyLens is a blog about Jaipur.  Best known around the world as “The Pink City,” Jaipur ranks high as a travel destination. My blog, JaipurThruMyLens showcases the city with a different perspective for travelers and locals.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to travel and visit many other cities in India and abroad. Based on my travel experiences, Jaipur is truly unique in comparison to all other cities. Jaipur encompasses a rich & unique culture that is hard to find in other cities. It has a very distinct “flavour” & “feel”, which draws visitors again and again! Every festival, like Holi, Diwali, Janmashtami, Teej, Dussehra, etc is celebrated with zest & fervor. The rich monumental legacy is certainly one of its kind with a long list including Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, and Hawa Mahal to name a few.

I started exploring Jaipur in 2014 even though I grew up in the city. In 2015, I started this blog on Jaipur, JaipurThruMyLens, to share pictures of the city with the rest of the world. Initially, the blog was only meant to be a photo-blog with pictures of Jaipur, and over time, the idea changed. Readers and followers of the JaipurThruMyLens blog requested that I share more and not just pictures. Many readers mentioned they possibly would not be able to travel to Jaipur and the blog was a great way to see the beautiful city, virtually. Some followers wanted me to share my perspective on popular places. Essentially, they wanted authentic information since the internet is full of conflicting ones. JaipurThruMyLens has become quite popular because of its unique content and perspective on Jaipur. The topics covered in this blog are quite varied and in-depth.

The idea of starting a blog about Jaipur was completely different than what it is today. I’m happy that the JaipurThruMyLens blog has helped travelers visiting Jaipur explore the pink city in a meaningful way. Similarly, researchers have shared that JaipurThruMyLens is a great resource for their research.

Many followers suggested that the blog should evolve with time. By this, they meant that JaipurThruMyLens should also share information through social media, especially Instagram. While I’m on Instagram – @arv_jpr it does not replace the blog JaipurThruMyLens. I’m only sharing Jaipur pictures on Instagram, at the moment.

I curate bespoke heritage Jaipur walking tours & theme based experiential tours in Jaipur. Explorers love my Jaipur walking tours and so do people who love architecture, heritage, history, and arts. If you wish to know more about these, you can connect with me via Instagram https://www.instagram.com/arv_jpr/

If you enjoy reading JaipurThruMyLens or have gained information for travel or research, kindly leave a comment to let me know. It helps to know that the blog is helping travelers and researchers. This way I can share more to help anyone seeking information about Jaipur. If there are aspects you find missing and would like me to share information about, do share.

There is so much to Jaipur that any combination of 26 letters will not be able to cover it all. The Internet, guidebooks, and Jaipur travel blogs are replete with information on Jaipur, most of which is quite a cliche.

  1. Hey Arv. Thank you for visiting my blog so I also have chances to visit yours. It’s incredible stories I found there. I often found the blogs writing a lot about India, but mostly it’s for the most tourist attraction places only, such as Delhi, Goa, and of course Jaipur too. But none providing such as info about Jaipur as detail as yours. I still have not changed yet to visit India, so travelling through your blog at least can give me some views how the it is.. And of course, Jaipur is on the list..Keep it up..

    1. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Although Jaipur is incredibly popular among tourists and that is why you will find immense amount of info on internet but sadly it is all cliche and touristy. Some real helpful information for tourists is always missing from the the top listed sites on google. Happy to know you enjoyed your trip to Jaipur.

    1. Thanks, Matt. I’m glad you liked this blog. I guess most blog evolved through this process – photo-journalism. These days though I have moved away and focussing on experiences or stories rather than writing about events or happenings. You have some beautiful monochrome pictures. Where are you based?
