View of the built heritage of Amer town

There is the Bihari Ji temple on the extreme left side. Located next to it is  Panna Meena Kund. It’s a Baoli or Baori – a local term used for a stepwell. At a certain point in time, these Baories were places of socialization for the local women. They would congregate here to collect water from Baori as well as to talk about their life and exchange notes.

On the extreme right side is the Ambikeshwar temple.  As per local legend, Amer town was named after the Ambikeshwar temple. Life is Amer town was woven around temples, which explains the presence of many temples in this small historic town.
