Jaipur Art summit just concluded in Jaipur, a few days back!
This art summit hosted over a period of 5 days, is being held every year for the last 3 years. This year’s summit was held at Shilpgram in Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur which provided an excellent setting for this event held between November 21-25,2015. Jawahar Kala Kendra is a popular venue for art, painting and photography exhibitions, craft fairs in Jaipur. The building was designed by the famous architect Charles Correa.
Instead of a detailed write-up, I’m posting pictures of the Jaipur Art Summit. Click Here, to access the information from the official website of the art summit.

Artist Vinay Sharma showcased his 300 miniature canvas in a separate booth. The booth looked amazing, with all the miniature canvas occupying entire space. In one of the corners were few old radios and transistors dating from the 1950s to 1970s!!

The art summit was quite an interesting one. I especially like the open area where the artists were expressing their creativity -live and one could walk in and interact with them!! This becomes a great platform to mingle and exchange your views with celebrated artist…and get enriched!!
Jaipur has an active community that loves art, theater and crafts. The city has been witnessing a lot of action in the last few years. A few popular events to take place in the pink city are Jaipur Literature Festival, Jairangam, Jaipur International Film Festival – JIFF to name a few. Jaipur Art Summit is a great addition to the city. There were no entry charges to attend Jaipur Art Summit.
They are all so beautiful. But especially the number 19 from the top (13 from the down) when you go up and down with mouse on the picture, it really moves… have you noticed, I loved it. The action… Thank you, love nia
I enjoyed reading your excellent photo essay. The pictures gave a very good impression about the nature of the art festival in your beautiful city. Any concerns about the weather on such outdoor events?
Peter, most of these events take place after monsoon months -rainy months which lasts from June-mid September. So October to February/March is good time for outdoor activity as weather is great. These are cold months, but weather doesn’t fall below 4-5 C – that too during night.
Indihealthin….I’m glad that my write ups help you explore! Given that there is so much around, I am always short of time to explore. If there is any way in which I can help you, please let me know!
Thanks josee! It was a multi day event. I just attended on one of the days, for few hours. Such events have a very positive effect on society and art lovers, alike . I think atmosphere which promotes interactions with artists certainly puts it on a higher pedestal.
Hi! Nice2beme… I agree with you. it’s the direct interactions with the artist that is the beauty of this art fest. Thanks for the compliments. 🙂
I like your name -nice2beme… pretty unique!
Hhhhh, thank you) I picked up this nickname, just to remind people that we are all unique personalities and I wish everyone could say: “It`s nice 2 be me!” in front of the mirror 😉
Love the collection of canvas paintings! Rajasthan has some of the finest artists in India. We particularly love the traditional style of fine brush works of processions of Kings.
I agree! However, large number of artist that took part in this summit came from all over the World! It’s true that Rajasthani artist are quite famous especially the stone sculptures.
super cool – is this a regular event?
