Ganesh Pol, Amer Fort

Ganesh Pol is the sought-after spot in Amer Fort for Instagram pictures. Amer Fort needs no introduction as it is the most popular tourist attraction in Jaipur and most crowded too. Beautiful frescoes and paintings on the arch of this gate definitely make for a great backdrop. Do you want to make sure you get “people-free” pictures at Ganesh Pol? The best time to do so is either at 8 AM or between 2-3 PM when it’s less crowded. Avoid clicking pictures at Ganesh Pol after 4 PM.

Amer Fort Entry Fee – Rs 100 for Indians. Rs 500 for overseas tourists

Amer Fort Timing – 8 AM to 5.30 PM and 6.30 PM to 9.15 for night tourism

Pritam Niwas, Jaipur City Palace

Pritam Niwas, City Palace is definitely the most popular Instagram spot in Jaipur. The four gates of Pritam Niwas Chowk are the favorite backdrop for the selfie posers. Peacock gate ranks high among the tourists between four gates of City Palace. It’s a good idea to get your pictures clicked with a backdrop of each gate and pick the best for your Instagram post.

City Palace Timing – 9.30 AM to 5 PM

It's one of the most popular doors from Jaipur to be featured on Instagram. Couple of weeks ago I posted a picture of a boring gate like this one. The only difference is that door was not painted. Both these doors were commissioned by the royalty some 300 years ago but this one is a rock star and popular among people across the world! That's life! Something similar happens to us humans! Some of us become celebrities while others lead anonymous life! . . . . #iamtb #lppathfinders #natgeoyourshot #lovetotravel #travelmore #traveladdict #beautifuldestinations #traveldiaries #igtravel #travelwriter #huffpostgram #natgeotravelpic #picoftheday #travelphotography #theglobewanderer #beautifuldestinations #incredibleindia #indiapictures #indiaclicks #igersrajasthan #instajaipur #jaipur #jaipurdiaries #heritagelover #architecturelovers #architecture #architexture #architecturephotography #jaipurthrumylens #jaipurblog

Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal needs no introduction. Some people think it is Eiffel Tower of Jaipur because it’s synonymous with the pink city. Both color and design of Hawa Mahal is spell-binding. The best thing is that it requires no entry fee and is accessible throughout the day. Every traveler must visit Hawa Mahal for clicking the Instagram worthy picture.

Hawa Mahal Entry Fee – Rs 50 for Indians. Rs 200 for overseas tourists. The main facade is however accessible to all without any charge as it is in Sirehdyodi Bazaar.

Hawa Mahal Timing – 9 AM to 5 PM

The palace of wind. Despite living here in Jaipur, it is only during last two post that I posted pictures of Hawa Mahal. Probably one of the most photographed tourist attraction in Jaipur. Let me confess, I think it is one of the most beautiful creations I have ever seen. What I like in this frame is the contrast. Blue sky with the terracotta colour- the Jaipur pink! #instajaipur #jaipur #jaipurdiaries #heritage #heritagelover #hawamahal #architecturephotography #incredibleindia #architecture #architexture #architecturelovers #wanderer #travelshots #history #perspective #jaipurthrumylens #passionpassport #amazingplaces #sharetravelpics #traveler #inspiredtraveller #igdaily  #onepointperspective #landscapestyles_gf #igramming_india #wanderlust #indiapictures #ig_photooftheday #ig_treasures #photographers_of_india

Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh Fort is immensely popular among the city youth. The most popular spot at Nahargarh is either inside the Madhvendra Palace or near Padao bar. The latter overlooks the city and has amazing views. I suggest you pick both. Do note that it is a popular attraction and finding space for yourself might be difficult especially during the weekends or a public holiday.

Nahargarh Fort Entry Fee – Rs 50 for Indians. Rs 200 for overseas tourists

Nahargarh Fort Timing – 10 AM to 5.30 PM for palace section

A peek into the lives of royalty! One of the many rooms in the palace section at Nahargarh Fort. I love how ochre has been used with Lilac. Ochre is a common colour to be used in the residential buildings ever since Jaipur was founded but lilac is not. May be a side effect of a restoration work? I have no clue. 1. Hi Arv, I learn something new from your blogs every time. I should have expected but I had no idea we have so many beautiful spots in Jaipur… in my mind there is always the picture of Hawa Mahal when I think of Jaipur. Next time I hope to visit Nahargad and Amer fort.

    1. Jaipur has grown far beyond the usual Hawa Mahal and Nahargarh Fort. Today, people visit Nahargarh Fort for sunset and sunrise. I can totally understand why you have those images, let’s blame it on the travel industry. I’m sure you will be able to find something new next time when you visit Jaipur, Jyoti! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂
