People searching for breakfast places in Jaipur is on a rise. Until a couple of years ago, this concept was unheard of. Things changed when Tapri Central started offering a breakfast menu. It caught on among the morning walkers at Central Park, and Tapri being right across the road surely helped. People seek a change from their routine or sometimes want to celebrate memorable occasions. On another hand, many travelers are seeking local or authentic breakfast rather than the mundane hotel breakfast. This explains why people are looking to explore places for breakfast in Jaipur.
I’m surprised to find many websites listing odd breakfast places in Jaipur like Prem Paan Bhandar or Saras Milk Jalebi. It clearly shows that people listing such places have never experienced or visited any of these places. Many places listed on websites don’t operate during breakfast hours. I guess such lists find a place in top results thanks to digital marketing. These days anyone can create content sitting in any part of the world with access to the internet.
Breakfast Places in Jaipur
The breakfast scene in Jaipur is different from the other cities like for example Kolkatta with places like the Kona Dukaan near the Stock exchange. Each city has its own offerings. Here are a few options for those looking for breakfast places in Jaipur.
Tapri Central
Tapri Central is one of the most popular places for breakfast in Jaipur. Even though there are other cafes like Cafe Bae and Curious Life Coffee Roasters but there is something they lack – Indian food. Tapri offers Poha, Chana, Tadka Maggi, Daal Pakwaan, Tofu Bhurji, sprout Chaat, and an assortment of Chai that these cafes don’t. Aaloo Parantha remains the preferred choice among Indians over the Cole Slaw sandwich. The flip side? Tapri is one of the most expensive breakfast places. Well, the view does cost money! Tea Affair
Tea Affair is a new place in C Scheme offering a breakfast menu. Nothing exceptional in terms of its offerings, however, the location is convenient; not far from Central Park. The prices are affordable and in line with its competitors. Sandwiches and a variety of Maggi are some of the customary things to try at Tea Affair.
Samraat
Until a decade ago, Samraat was best known for its Dal Kachori and Jalebi. However, now Samraat is one of the popular options for street breakfast places in Jaipur. It is best classified as a street food place; there isn’t much place to sit and enjoy breakfast so people eat on the sidewalk. The most sought-after among the patrons of Samraat are Dal and Pyaaz Kachori, Jalebi, Mirchi Bada, Khaman Dhokla, and tea. Samraat though offers much more. The reason for its popularity is affordable prices and the availability of cheap streetside food vendors in the vicinity like the Poha seller. On weekends, Samraat witnesses a tremendous rush. Make note it does become chaotic between 7.30-9.30 am on weekends. Read What’s in for breakfast?
Curious Life Coffee Roasters
Curious Life Coffee Roasters is well known for its coffee, and I have already written about it in a separate post-Curious Life Coffee Roasters as well as in the best coffee places in Jaipur. Omelette, boiled eggs, salads, quinoa, porridge, muesli, and sandwiches remain popular breakfast offerings. Read an in-depth post Curious Coffee Roasters- The best place for coffee in Jaipur? People looking for English breakfast in Jaipur will find Curious Life Coffee Roasters a good option.
Indian Coffee House
Indian Coffee House on MI Road has its own patrons. People like this place for its old-world charm. The setting looks straight out of the 1960s. Even though Indian coffee house is popular for south Indian food and coffee. In my opinion, it is nothing worth writing about. I recommend this place only to those who are enamored by old-world charm or nostalgia.
Tapri Ashram
Tapri Ashram is the newest Tapri outlet in Jaipur among all even though it has been more than four years since it started its operations in Jaipur. This is located near the airport in Jaipur Marriott. Many people consider Tapri Ashram as the best breakfast place near Jaipur airport. The menu is similar to the one served in Tapri Central.
Kanha
Kanha is a Jaipur version of Bikanerwala or Haldiram. It offers affordable quick-serve food. The quality and taste standards are maintained. Among the popular things, one can try at Kahna are Aaloo Puri and Chola Bhatura. The only thing missing is the ambiance. On the positive side, there are a couple of Kanha outlets spread all across the city. If someone is seeking a cheap breakfast place in Jaipur, Kanha is a good option.
The Annapurnam Restaurant
The Annapurnam is a new South Indian food restaurant in Jaipur. It serves authentic Karnataka-style South Indian cuisine, one of its kind in Jaipur. The food quality and taste are the best among all South Indian food places in the city. It is located near Ahinsa Circle in C-Scheme on Ashok Marg. This famous South Indian restaurant in Jaipur starts serving breakfast at 7.30 AM. Among the things to try are Dosa, Idle, Khara Bhaat, Kesri Bhaat, south Indian filter coffee, and mini south Indian Thali.
This is not an exhaustive list of breakfast places in Jaipur; there are many more places. I have listed a few popular ones. Over here are a few more breakfast places you can try. Caveat– I have personally never been to these places for breakfast, although some people do.
Cafe Bae
I have already written about Cafe Bae in my post-Best cafe, restaurants, and lounges in Jaipur. This was a defacto place for people seeking breakfast buffets in Jaipur. The buffet price was very competitive given its spread- Rs 599+tax. I’m not updated on the current prices.
Stepout Cafe
Stepout Cafe is located close to Central Park and has been promoting its breakfast offering in the last year or so. I have been to Setpout Cafe but never for breakfast. The cafe now also has a hostel facility for travelers which might explain the reason for its new forays.
Eating out has become a phenomenon in the modern world. So I am not surprised that Jaipur has opened many breakfast places.

I must admit that we are big fans of eating out for breakfast. At the start of the day it is good to have someone else do all the work. Always good to have a good list of breakfast spots in new cities. I will keep this one for a future visit to Jaipur.

I am not a big breakfast person, but if I am going to fill up that early I would want authentic food from the area. Great suggestions for people who want to experience culture rather than the standard breakfast buffet.

I do not like to go out for breakfast usually. However, in India, this is different. I just love Indian food and there are so many vegetarian specialities I want to try, that I have to start early in the morning and eat my way through the day!

My favourite meal of the day is breakfast, so I’m always keen to learn about the recommended places to try when travelling. Your list is a great selection to choose from, and I’m sure the coffee shops would be just perfect to start your day of sightseeing in Jaipur.

I’m sure you will like all these places. I would recommend you to try “Chai” instead of coffee, at least once. In this part of the world people begin their day with Chai- tea rather than a coffee. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I see a lot of the breakfast places are around the Central Park area. They probably target the morning walkers. It was a good collection of breakfast joints I would try on my next visit to Jaipur.
