5 Best Cafés In Jaipur For Coffee Lovers

In one of my earlier blogs on Jaipur, I mentioned that tea was the most popular beverage among the residents. Over the years, drinking coffee has become the new cool, thanks to the rise in cafés in the city. Cafés serving coffee run in three digits, and only a handful of them accomplish their job well. After exploring cafés, here are the best coffee cafes in Jaipur. Four among these have their own roasting machines and are picky about the choice of coffee beans.

The best Cafes For Coffee In Jaipur

Here are the cafes serving the best coffee in Jaipur.

  • Curious Life Coffee Roasters

Curious Life is one of the first cafés in Jaipur to offer single-origin coffee who also roasts its own coffee beans, providing its customers with many brewing options. One of the reasons why Curious Life serves the most excellent coffee is because the owner, Neeraj Sheoran is an ardent coffee lover and a perfectionist. Can it be because he has served in the army for many years in Africa? You have to uncover it yourself!

I wrote about Curious Life in 2015, you can read this here Curious Life Coffee Roasters | Best place for coffee in Jaipur? They have opened a considerably bigger outlet in C-Scheme, which is packed with coffee lovers. If you are visiting Curious Life during the weekend, expect a long waiting period. In my opinion, their Vietnamese Cold Brew is one of the best.

  • Half-Light Coffee Roasters Jaipur

Half-Light Coffee Roasters is a recent entrant to specialize in single-origin coffee. The owners have been in the wholesale business of supplying coffee for quite some time now, and opening an outlet represents a logical progression.

Half-Light Coffee Roasters

Having been to Half-Light Coffee Roasters a couple of times, I have enjoyed a consistent experience. The cafe uses quality ingredients, and it shows in its popularity. The cafe is almost always buzzing. On the other hand, finding a parking space in the vicinity on some days is difficult. I feel this cafe needs to do up its decor in line with the trend and increase the seating space.

  • Rustic By OTH

I have already written a full post on Rustic by OTH. Read What makes Rustic By OTH the most promising new cafe in Jaipur?

Rustic By OTH

Rustic By OTH cannot be compared with Curious Life Coffee Roasters because it offers a lot more. It is a full-service cafe and not merely a coffee shop. However, the placement on the ground floor does hint at offering more than a cafe experience.

best place to have coffee in jaipur rustic by oth

Rustic by OTH offers specialty coffee brand DEVI, their USP.  I have been disappointed with their Turkish coffee though. South Indian Filter Coffee was just an average experience. However, the rest of the things have been good.

What I typically enjoyed is the fact they offer more value by way of quantity. Another plus is a vast assortment of food that one can order which other café’s don’t offer. I never encountered any problem as far as finding a table was concerned. Rustic is one of the best cafes in Malviya Nagar, Jaipur.

  • Sutra Coffee Jaipur

Sutra is one of the most recent additions to the list of the best coffee cafe in Jaipur. Sutra is a venture of Dushyant Singh, the owner of OTH and Rustic by OTH. This is a reason why one is served coffee with Sutra branded mugs in OTH. The concept of specialty coffee outlets started with Curious Life Coffee Roasters in 2015. Over the last six years, many contemporary players have come up. Curious Coffee and Half-Light coffee still command a loyal following. Sutra is trying to break this duopoly. And they are working quite hard. The best Cortado in Jaipur can be relished at Sutra Coffee. There aren’t many cafes in Jaipur offering Cortado.

This is what Sutra mentions on their website. “Sutra means ‘thread’. The thread that connects stories and storytellers. We equate ‘Sutra’ with ‘togetherness’ because you cherish eternal memories over a cup of coffee with your loved ones.”

If you are serious about your coffee, Sutra Coffee addition offers coffee courses including a Barista course in Jaipur apart from a home brewing course. I can definitely recommend Sutra Coffee as the best coffee cafe in C-Scheme in Jaipur.

  • The Little Coffee Shop

The little coffee shop is one of the hidden gems of Jaipur. Very few locals have heard of this cafe. It is an unusually small cafe with a limited seating space.

It is tucked in a narrow lane called Chameliwala Market on MI Road. In the 1980s and 90s, this market was a backpacker haven. There were many low-cost lodging options for foreign travelers. With abundant hostels spread all over Jaipur now, all that has changed. It’s a well-known place for silver jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers, and exporters. The little Coffee Shop is a venture of one such exporter.

Even though it is a small coffee shop, they accomplish their job very well. I wish they lower the price a bit more since they are not a full-service cafe with a meager seating space.

  • Roastery Coffee House Jaipur

Roastery Coffee chain from Hyderabad is last on this list to start its outlet in Jaipur. Located in C-Scheme, it is always buzzing and packed. Apart from Jaipur, they also have a presence in Kolkata and Lucknow. I know many people who associate Roastery with good coffee. I do feel they need to tweak their menu a little bit to provide alternatives to coffees being served by the most popular cafes in the city like Cortado. One of the most unique and popular offerings of Roastery Coffee in Jaipur is Cranberry coffee; it is especially popular among females.

The most unique elements of this cafe are that it is situated in an old mansion and it has a stepwell.

So what is my pick?

My preferred cafe for coffee is Curious Life Coffee Roasters. I love the ambiance and vibe of the place. The interiors are warm and inviting. What helps is the fact that the management has made arrangements for a second parking space in the school parking lot.

I also enjoy visiting Rustic By OTH as well as its first venture – OTH Cafe in C-Scheme. Barring the above four, this is the sole cafe offering specialty coffee in the Malviya Nagar area. I quite like the interiors of this place.

The selection of coffee at OTH Cafe & Bistro in C-Scheme is different. One of my favorites from their menu is Cafe Bombon which consists of 60 ml espresso with 30 ml condensed milk. I haven’t come across something better when it comes to coffee with milk. The food at OTH is consistent, which makes it one of the popular choices among Jaipur foodies.

This is what I like, and unfortunately, it is rare to find good South Indian filter coffee in Jaipur. But here is one place where you can have one, check it out in the Best Restaurants and Cafes in Jaipur

Filter coffee from Bangalore!

Finally, here is a super message from Half-Light Coffee Roasters!

    1. Glad to hear that you are a coffee person. I agree it’s not just about the coffee, it’s also about the atmosphere and ambiance. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Amelia.

      1. Out here also, tea rule, thanks to the British colonial rule. They started tea plantation in India. I suppose the young generation in Ireland prefer coffee.

      2. cool. Happy to know that Ireland is still strong on tea. I believe there are many International companies headquartered there especially the IT and financial sector.

  1. Thank you for sharing your post at SIPB. I love my coffee and must admit a coffee-holic, although I try not to have more than 3 max a day. 2 of them will be soy or almond milk latte and my evening coffee will be a straight dark roast black coffee which we have after our evening meal. Oh it’s so good, just had my last sip while reading your post. Thanks

  2. Interesting One Sir!! Great Post, Whenever I will There In Jaipur I Will Try Out These Cafe. Please Do Like My Blog Also Sir And Do Comment

  4. Had to visit as I enjoy coffee shops. Always on the look out for news ones at home. We have Starbucks here but I find the atmosphere is never as cozy as a local shop with different tables and chairs. I often bring tablet and work on blog at a coffee shop. Few here have long work tables for just that.

    1. I always feel that the chain coffe shop can never recreate the charm and warmth of a stand alone coffee shop. They also have character which chain shops lack. Even here a lot of people now work from coffee shops. 🙂

  5. I am a coffeeholic and the detailed post about coffee makes me happy. I have saved this for reference in future. Wonderfully compiled and I can feel the aroma of coffee through your lens! 😀

    1. There are plenty of other similar Cafe’s like Half Light in the city. I’m not sure where all Blue Tokai is present but I’m sure your city must be high on their list. I assume there must be many great Cafe’s in your city, after all it’s a buzzing place.

  6. All five look delightful and we’d be sure to try them all if we lived in Jaipur. I agree with what you said in a comment above about chain coffee shops lacking the charm of the individual ones. We rarely visit Costa, Cafe Nero or Starbucks and such like when we’re out unless there is no alternative.

    1. I hope someday you visit Jaipur and get to try them out yourselves. I feel individually owned and run cafes tend to be more dynamic than the chain cafes. Are chain cafe’s stronger in your area and in the UK? I suppose the individual cafes must be outnumbering the chain cafes.

    1. Like everything else, this time will end too. Hopefully sometime soon. This is time for virtual travel and recollect past travel experiences. Are you regular at coffee places in Kolkata, Maniparna?
