The best Coffee Cafes in Jaipur

These cafes serve speciality or single-origin coffee in Jaipur. Each listing includes practical details to help you explore and visit them.

Curious Life Coffee Roasters

  • coffee culture pioneer in Jaipur
  • In-house roasting and selling of coffee beans – Single origin
  • Location- C-Scheme – Lajpat Marg and Yudhistir Marg

Curious Life is one of the first cafés in Jaipur to offer single-origin coffee; it has an in-house roasting facility for coffee beans and provides its customers with many brewing options. Many coffee lovers in Jaipur beleive Curious Life Coffee Roasters serves the best coffee in Jaipur. One of the reasons why Curious Life serves the best coffee is because the owner, Neeraj Sheoran is an ardent coffee lover and a perfectionist. Could it be because he has served in the army for many years in Africa? You have to uncover it yourself!

I wrote about Curious Life in 2015, you can read it here Curious Life Coffee Roasters | Best place for coffee in Jaipur? They have opened a considerably bigger outlet in C-Scheme, which is packed with coffee lovers. If you are visiting Curious Life during the weekend, expect a long waiting period. In my opinion, Vietnamese Cold Brew is one of the best in Jaipur.

Half-Light Coffee Roasters

  • Serious Challenger to Curious Life Coffee Roasters
  • In-house roasting and selling of coffee beans – Single origin
  • Location- C-Scheme and Malviya Nagar

Half-Light Coffee Roasters started selling single-origin coffee in Jaipur. Even though Curious Life Coffee Roasters started coffee culture in Jaipur, Half Light Coffee Roasters took it to the next level. The owners have been in the wholesale business of supplying coffee for quite some time now, and opening an outlet was a logical progression.

Half-Light Coffee Roasters

Having been to Half-Light Coffee Roasters a couple of times, I have enjoyed a consistent experience. The cafe uses quality ingredients, and it shows in its popularity. The cafe is almost always buzzing. Many coffee lovers in Jaipur feel Half-Light Coffee Roasters serves the best coffee in Jaipur and not Curious Life Coffee Roasters. Coffee lovers in Jaipur often debate on this topic and can never reacha conclusion; I think this is a personal choice. Finding a parking near this cafe is quite difficult. The cafe moved to a new location in the vicinity a few years ago; the pictures of Half-Life Coffee Roasters in this post are from the old location. Half-Light Coffee Roasters also has an outlet in Malviya Nagar.

Rustic by OTH

  • Location- Malviya Nagar
  • Speciality Coffee
  • Full dining Menu

I have already written a full post on Rustic by OTH. Read What makes Rustic By OTH the most promising new cafe in Jaipur.

Rustic by OTH

Rustic By OTH cannot be compared with Curious Life Coffee Roasters because it offers a lot more. It is a full-service cafe and not merely a coffee shop. However, its placement on the ground floor does hint at offering more than a cafe experience.

best place to have coffee in jaipur rustic by oth

Rustic by OTH offers the specialty coffee brand DEVI as its USP.  I have been disappointed with their Turkish coffee though. South Indian Filter Coffee was just an average experience. However, the rest of the things have been good. What I typically enjoy is the fact they offer more value by way of quantity. Another plus is the vast assortment of food that one can order which other café don’t offer. I never encountered any problem as far as finding a table was concerned. Rustic is one of the best cafes in Malviya Nagar, Jaipur.

Must try – DEVI specialty espresso, nothing exceptional when it to their dishes
Skip – Turkish coffee; it is inconsistent
Best for – Malviya Nagar residents, coffee + meal combo

Coffee Sutra

  • Locations- C-Scheme, JLN Marg, and Vaishali Nagar
  • In-house coffee roasting
  • Barista courses

Coffee Sutra is one of the most recent additions to the list of the coffee places in Jaipur. Sutra is a venture of Dushyant Singh, the owner of OTH and Rustic by OTH. This is the reason why one is served coffee with Sutra-branded mugs in OTH. Over the years, many contemporary players have come up. Curious Coffee and Half-Light Coffee still command a loyal following. Sutra is trying to break this duopoly. And they are working quite hard. The best Cortado in Jaipur can be sipped at Sutra Coffee. There aren’t many cafes in Jaipur offering Cortado.

sutra-coffee-jaipur-best-c-scheme-cafe

The meaning of Sutra- this is what Sutra mentions on its website. “Sutra means ‘thread’. The thread that connects stories and storytellers. We equate ‘Sutra’ with ‘togetherness’ because you cherish eternal memories over a cup of coffee with your loved ones.”

best-cafe-in-c-scheme-jaipur-sutra-coffee

If you are serious about your coffee, Sutra Coffee addition offers coffee courses including a Barista course in Jaipur apart from a home brewing course. I can definitely recommend Sutra Coffee as one of the best coffee cafe in C-Scheme in Jaipur.

Must try – Cortado, signature espresso drinks
Unique – Barista course and home brewing course available
Watch Out – Sutra can be very busy and noisy place. Due to presence of govt. departments, lately, this cafe has become busy with people visiting these office due to work especially in the Jaipur Secretariat.

The Little Coffee Shop in Jaipur

  • MI Road – Chameliwala Market
  • Hidden spot
  • Cosy Cafe
  • Pioneer in offering non caffine and vegan coffee options in Jaipur

The Little Coffee Shop Jaipur is one of the hidden gems of Jaipur for coffee lovers. Very few Jaipur residents have heard of this small cute Jaipur coffee shop but this cafe is patronised by foreign travelers ever since it first opened. The Little Coffee Shop or TLC has many patrons. Since Jaipur is a big hub for crafts and arts, many international buyers sourcing their hand made items in Jaipur are its patrons. The cafe is also pioneer when it comes to international trends. TLC was first cafe to offer matcha and vegan options like soya milk, almond milk, and oat milk since 2018. It is also the first cafe in Jaipur to offer non-caffine options like turnmeric latte, beerroot latte, butterfly pea latter, among many others; this is because the cafe is frequented by foreigners and international travellers.

best-black-brew-little-coffee-shop-jaipur

It is tucked away in a narrow lane called Chameliwala Market on MI Road. In the 1980s and 90s, Chameliwala market was where backpackers preferred to stay in Jaipur. There were many low-cost lodging options for foreign travelers. With abundant hostels spread all over Jaipur now, all that has changed. It’s a well-known place for silver jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers, and exporters. The Little Coffee Shop is a venture of one such exporter.

Even though it is a small coffee shop, they accomplish their job very well. Don’t let the size fool you; the coffee quality here consistently punches above its weight. If you are seeking a “hidden place in Jaipur” The Little Coffee Shop is a good place to visit.

Must try – Espresso or black coffee
Note – Small seating, not ideal for large groups
Best for – Explorers, solo travelers looking for quiet & cosy cafe, and those shopping or staying on MI Road

Roastery Coffee House

  • C Scheme
  • Heritage property with old world charm – Bungalow
  • Stepwell

Roastery Coffee House chain from Hyderabad is the newest addition to the best coffee place in Jaipur. Located in C-Scheme, it is always buzzing and packed. Apart from Jaipur, they also have a presence in Kolkata and Lucknow. There are many people who associate Roastery with good coffee, especially in Hyderabad. I feel Roastery needs to tweak its menu to provide options; for example, they don’t serve Cortado which is now becoming popular. One of the most unique and popular offerings at Roastery Coffee in Jaipur is Cranberry coffee, very popular with its female patrons.

roastery-coffee-house-jaipur-c-scheme-review

The most unique elements of this cafe are that it is situated in an old mansion and it has a stepwell. Read this post to understand what is a stepwell or Baori, as is called locally- Jaipur Stepwell. Here is a picture of Roastery House Stepwell.

Must try – Cranberry Coffee, cold brew
Atmosphere – Old mansion + in-house stepwell; new and unique concept for a cafe
Best for – First-time visitors to Jaipur, architecture lovers, Instagram worthy content – stepwell

KaCoBa

  • Narain Niwas Shopping Arcade
  • Offers experimental options in coffee
  • Good option if you want to club shopping in Narain Niws Arcade and wind up your dinner at Shikaar Bagh or Bar Palladio

KaCoBa cafe is one of the newest cafe for coffee in Jaipur. It is located in the shopping arcade of Narayan Niwas with many upmarket outlets like Jaipur Rugs, Anantaya, Umrao Jewels to name a few. Locals and travelers best know Narain Niwas for Shikaar Bagh and Bar Palladio. The seating is limited in KaCoBa but their coffee is amazing. They do offer some unique coffee flavours that are not available in most cafes in Jaipur. Among the coffees to try at KaCoBa are the Kiss of Kacoba Whiskey Barrel and Moonstruck Flat White. Here is a picture from KaCoBa Cafe with a view of Narain Niwas shopping arcade. KaCoBa is a good option for those who want to spend some time shopping, coffee and food. The arcade offers some of the best upmarket Jaipur brands, Narain Niws also have Shikaar Bagh and Bar Palladio- these are one of the most sought after drinks and dining places in Jaipur. KaCoBa-Cafe-coffee-Roasters-jaipur-review

Must try – Kiss of KaCoBa Whiskey Barrel, Moonstruck Flat White
Good to Know – Limited seating; go for the coffee, not to linger and chill
Best for – Experimental coffee drinkers, travellers staying near Narain Niwas, walled city area, Raja Park, and Tilak Nagar

Area – Narain Niwas Shopping Arcade (close to C-Scheme and old city)

Taffeta Cafe

  • Location – Near Airport and Patrika Gate
  • Great ambiance
  • Ample indoor seating with outdoor option

Tafetta Cafe is one of the new cafe that many coffee lovers in Jaipur love visiting. However, this is more like Town Coffee – cafe’s that doesn’t focus entirely on coffee. Taffeta doesn’t have cult following among the coffee lovers in Jaipur like Curious Life or Half Light Coffee. People also visit here for ambiance and food. So, I wouldn’t put it at par with cafe’s that specialise in coffee. The reason I have included in the list is because many people are not picky for coffee or they would like places which have extensive menu – other than coffee.

Alchemist Coffee Comapny

  • Location- C Scheme
  • Cosy interiors
  • Not one of the overcrowded cafes in C-Scheme
  • Good for freelancers who love working from Cafe

Not many people know about Alchemist coffee. One of the reasons is its location. Even though it is in C-Scheme, it is located on a road which doesn’t see much traffic and footfall. The ambiance of Alchemist will remind you of OTH, cosy warm interiors. From my experience as well as feedback of many coffee lovers, the coffee here is not exceptional but this is one of the quiet cafe’s. So if you want to work froma cafe which is quiet, Alchemist can be a good choice. Alchemist has been promoting Matcha. I’m not sure how it is since I’m not a matcha lover.

Which place serves the best coffee in Jaipur?

Based on coffee lovers experience and patronage, Half-Life Coffee Roasters and Curious Life Coffee are still rated as the best cafe for coffee lovers in Jaipur. My preferred cafe for coffee is Coffee Sutra and Half Light Coffee. I love their coffee, ambiance, hospitality, and the vibe of the place. Lately, based on my experience, Coffee Sutra in C-scheme seems to be a bit over crowded with people who are not really into coffee; the upkeep also needs an improvement.

enjoying-best-cup-of-coffee-at-curious-life-coffee-jaipur-review-by-jaipurthrumylens

Rustic by OTH is the sole cafe offering specialty coffee in the Malviya Nagar area. Even though Costa Coffee is present in World Trade Park, I wouldn’t put it on par with the ones listed above. I would recommend KaCoBa for their whiskey barrel.

This is what I like, and unfortunately, it is rare to find good South Indian filter coffee in Jaipur. But here is one place where you can have one, check it out in the Best Restaurants and Cafes in Jaipur.

      1. Out here also, tea rule, thanks to the British colonial rule. They started tea plantation in India. I suppose the young generation in Ireland prefer coffee.

  1. Thank you for sharing your post at SIPB. I love my coffee and must admit a coffee-holic, although I try not to have more than 3 max a day. 2 of them will be soy or almond milk latte and my evening coffee will be a straight dark roast black coffee which we have after our evening meal. Oh it’s so good, just had my last sip while reading your post. Thanks

  4. Had to visit as I enjoy coffee shops. Always on the look out for news ones at home. We have Starbucks here but I find the atmosphere is never as cozy as a local shop with different tables and chairs. I often bring tablet and work on blog at a coffee shop. Few here have long work tables for just that.

    1. I always feel that the chain coffe shop can never recreate the charm and warmth of a stand alone coffee shop. They also have character which chain shops lack. Even here a lot of people now work from coffee shops. 🙂

    1. There are plenty of other similar Cafe’s like Half Light in the city. I’m not sure where all Blue Tokai is present but I’m sure your city must be high on their list. I assume there must be many great Cafe’s in your city, after all it’s a buzzing place.

  6. All five look delightful and we’d be sure to try them all if we lived in Jaipur. I agree with what you said in a comment above about chain coffee shops lacking the charm of the individual ones. We rarely visit Costa, Cafe Nero or Starbucks and such like when we’re out unless there is no alternative.

    1. I hope someday you visit Jaipur and get to try them out yourselves. I feel individually owned and run cafes tend to be more dynamic than the chain cafes. Are chain cafe’s stronger in your area and in the UK? I suppose the individual cafes must be outnumbering the chain cafes.
